The building portion of this kit is fantastic — it naturally encourages experimentation, iteration, and collaboration. Our kids (ages 10 and 6) constantly modify and reinterpret what they create, which mirrors the core engineering mindset of prototyping and refining rather than aiming for one final solution.
At first, the storytelling prompts felt a bit “locked in,” and we wondered if we were supposed to follow them exactly. We found creativity really took off once we treated them more loosely. Instead of defining one fixed character or storyline, we introduce changing “conditions” — like “now there’s no gravity” or “now it’s underwater.” The biggest creative moments happen when kids start asking their own “what if” questions while they play.
Overall, it’s a thoughtfully designed product that does an excellent job fostering real creative thinking.
